Slip-n-Slide Birthday Party!

Deanna turned 8 on Monday. She had a few friends over and we ate pizza and they slipped-n-slide. We also had a pinata but the dang thing broke before anybody could hit it. So we just dumped the candy out on the ground and the kids went crazy trying to get as much candy as they could.

This is the birthday girl with all her friends. We had a great time!

Vacation! Kind of

One of the bonuses for Darin working out of town is that sometimes we get to go with him. So while it is a vacation for the kids and I, it isn't so much for Darin. We first went to West Yellowston in Montana. It was very beautiful there, but it was also very cold. It rained and snowed the whole time we were there. We didn't leave the hotel unless it was time to go get something to eat. I was very glad when we walked in the hotel and the first thing the kids saw was this indoor pool with a 90' water slide. If it wasn't for this pool we would have been bored out of our minds. I was so excited because when I was about 10 we drove to Canada for a family reunion. The hotel we stayed at in British Columbia had this exact same slide. That was one of the funnest parts of that trip and the most memorable.
After we left Montana we drove to Utah so Darin could dig and plumb another swimming pool. We visited with my sister Jamie and her son Nash and also with my niece Cammie who just moved to Provo a month ago. We had alot of fun with them. I didn't get any pictures though. I am the worst picture taker ever.

We also spent some time with Darin's brothers family. The kids had a blast with their cousins. This is Karlee and Rylee.

The girls running through the sprinklers. So much fun!

Flying Kites with no Wind!

What do you do when you want to fly a kite and there is no wind? Deanna and Gunner figured it out. You can either run like Deanna is doing here or...
You can hold onto it and ride your bike at the same time like Gunner is doing here.

Gunner got this kite at the dollar store and was very determined to fly it that day. So his determination payed off.

End of the school year Activities!

We were busy the last week of school with all the different activities the kids had. I wasn't able to capture everything but I did manage to get a few things. Gunner had a end of the year picnic with games. They had to move it into the cafeteria because it was raining pretty hard that day. I love Gunner's face in this picture. He's trying to concentrate but also trying to make me happy by smiling for the camera. Such a cute kid!
This is his friend Ava. She is actually Deanna's good friend but in Gunner's class and her older brother is Deanna's age but Gunner's best friend. Gunner and Ava have a love hate relationship.

This is Tatum getting an award for AR points in reading. She was a little embarrassed that I was taking pictures of her. There weren't to many parents who showed up and hardly any of them were taking pictures.

Only a few fourth graders were invited to play the recorder at the end of the year assembly and Rylee was one of them. She is very musically talented.
I wasn't able to go with Deanna on her fieldtrip they had the last week of school so that is why I don't have any pictures of her.

Arizona!

I haven't blogged in over a month and so much has happened since then. In May, Darin and I got to fly to Arizona to witness his niece be sealed to her family. It was a beautiful sealing and a very short fun trip. We enjoyed the time we had to spend with our families. It was nice to be in the Mesa temple again. I love this temple for so many different reasons.
